The party kit
Three things the organisers would otherwise make themselves: an invitation for colleagues, a sign for the tables and a run-sheet for the evening. Use them as they stand, or rewrite them so they sound like you.
The invitation
Paste it into the email or the calendar invitation. It says what will happen, and that nobody has to prepare anything.
At the party we are playing PowerPoint karaoke. The wheel picks who gives a talk on slides nobody has seen before, and the rest of us vote afterwards. Bring your phone: it is the clicker and the ballot. There is no app to install, no account to make and nothing to prepare, and you are welcome just to watch and vote.
The table sign
Print it and put one on every table. The code only appears on the big screen on the night, so the sign says where to type it.

The run-sheet
Five things, in the order they happen. With 8 talks and the host page as it opens, the game takes about 45 min.

Check the screen in good time
Open the check page on the television or projector that will show the game. It tells you whether the picture fits and whether the fonts come through. Do it the day before, not ten minutes before.

Open the room
The host opens the room at slideroulette.com/host and presses Open the room. The big screen shows the code and a QR code, which is how the guests get in.

Choose the number of talks
Under Number of talks the host chooses how many will go up. 8 talks is a good place to start and takes about 45 min., which leaves time for dinner afterwards.
